The Barn at Moor Hall Awarded Three AA Rosettes

We are thrilled to announce that The Barn at Moor Hall has today awarded a third AA Rosette. The three-rosette-status rewards outstanding restaurants demanding recognition well beyond their local area.

Our 65-cover restaurant was launched in 2017 adjacent to Moor Hall Restaurant with Rooms, which was awarded a second Michelin star in 2018. In addition to the restaurant, The Barn, which overlooks the lake, houses a small dairy, a bakery and a meat-aging and curing room, offers an insight into the world-renowned ethos and culinary skill that pervades at Moor Hall.

With a set menu, A La Carte and Sunday lunch menu available, Head Chef Nathan Cornwell turns out continuously-changing seasonal dishes, using ingredients that are grown on site or sourced locally. An innovative and exciting approach takes form in dishes such as; 80-day aged Longhorn beef tartare, nasturtium and beef fat brioche; Butter poached turbot with crapaudine beetroot, lardo and mussel sauce; Roasted partridge and confit leg, fig, cracked wheat and elderberry sauce and a dessert of Caramelised apple mille feuille with a walnut crumble and vanilla ice cream.

Commenting on the award, Chef Patron Mark Birchall said: “We’re delighted with the latest award and I’m very proud of Nathan and the rest of the team who have worked so hard to get The Barn to where it is today. When we launched The Barn I wanted it to embody the essence of Moor Hall but within a more casual environment. The third AA Rosette recognises our achievement in doing so – we’ve created a fantastic neighbourhood restaurant where the produce speaks for itself.”
