We are delighted to share that Moor Hall has retained Two MICHELIN Keys in the 2026 MICHELIN Guide Hotel Selection, continuing its recognition as one of the Guide’s exceptional places to stay.
The 2026 MICHELIN Key selection was announced on 18 September, following anonymous visits by MICHELIN Guide inspectors. Two MICHELIN Keys signify “an exceptional stay”, recognising hotels for their character, personality, design, sense of place and the care that goes into the overall guest experience. (Michelin)
For us, the recognition is particularly meaningful because Moor Hall has always been about much more than the restaurant alone.
Set within five acres of gardens in Aughton, Lancashire, the experience extends from the moment guests arrive. Our 14 individually designed bedrooms sit across the historic main house, gatehouse and garden rooms, allowing guests to slow down and experience Moor Hall beyond the dining room.
The gardens and surrounding landscape are an important part of that experience. They influence what we grow, what we cook and how guests experience Moor Hall throughout the seasons – creating a connection between the rooms, restaurants and the place we call home.
Moor Hall was first awarded Two MICHELIN Keys in 2025, when the distinction recognised the property as an exceptional stay. Retaining them for 2026 follows another significant year for the team, with Moor Hall also retaining Three MICHELIN Stars in the 2026 restaurant selection. (Moor Hall)
Together, the distinctions recognise two different parts of the Moor Hall experience: the MICHELIN Stars for the cooking and the MICHELIN Keys for the stay.
At the heart of both is the same approach – attention to detail, a strong sense of place and a team committed to making every guest's time at Moor Hall memorable.
We are incredibly proud to retain our Two MICHELIN Keys and would like to thank the entire Moor Hall team whose care, dedication and attention to detail make this recognition possible.
Most importantly, thank you to everyone who chooses to stay with us. We look forward to welcoming you back to Moor Hall soon.
Lancashire is a land of abundance. Our gardens teem with fruit and vegetables and flowers and herbs. In season here you might eat peas straight out of the pod, so fresh all they need is a touch of salt and nasturtium oil. What we don’t grow we seek out from the amazing produce tended and nurtured by local farmers and artisans.
On site we’re also busy with charcuterie, bread-making and our own micro-dairy. There’s always something interesting to explore or a discovery to be made. And we like to share what we find.
