We are delighted to share that Moor Hall has been named the No. 5 restaurant in the UK at the National Restaurant Awards 2026.
The annual awards, regarded as one of the most respected accolades in British hospitality, celebrate the very best restaurants across the UK as voted for by an academy of chefs, restaurateurs and food writers. This year's result sees Moor Hall once again recognised among the country's leading dining destinations, reinforcing a remarkable period of sustained success for the restaurant.
Maintaining a place at the very highest level of British dining is something we never take for granted. Since first being crowned National Restaurant of the Year in 2019, Moor Hall has continued to feature among the elite restaurants in the UK, remaining in the National Restaurant Awards Top 5 for 7 consecutive years and securing multiple No. 1 and No. 2 rankings throughout that period.
The recognition reflects the commitment and passion of the entire Moor Hall team. From the kitchen and front-of-house teams to our gardeners, suppliers, producers and artisans, every person contributes to creating the experience our guests enjoy each day.
Chef Patron Mark Birchall said:
"To be recognised once again by our peers within the industry is a tremendous honour. Awards like these are the result of a collective effort and are a reflection of the dedication, talent and hard work of everyone at Moor Hall. We are constantly striving to improve and evolve, and we're incredibly grateful to our team, our suppliers and our guests for their continued support."
Moor Hall's relationship with the National Restaurant Awards has been a special one over the years. Having topped the list in both 2019 and 2021, followed by a second-place ranking in 2022, recognition as Best Restaurant in England in both 2022 and 2023, a Top 3 position in 2024 and now No. 2 in 2026, the restaurant has consistently remained among the UK's most celebrated dining destinations.
For everyone who has visited Moor Hall, supported us, worked alongside us, or contributed to our journey, thank you. Your support allows us to continue pushing forward, championing exceptional British produce and showcasing the incredible talent found here in Lancashire.
We would also like to congratulate all the restaurants featured in this year's National Restaurant Awards list. To be recognised among such outstanding company is a privilege, and we are proud to be part of an industry that continues to inspire and innovate.
Lancashire is a land of abundance. Our gardens teem with fruit and vegetables and flowers and herbs. In season here you might eat peas straight out of the pod, so fresh all they need is a touch of salt and nasturtium oil. What we don’t grow we seek out from the amazing produce tended and nurtured by local farmers and artisans.
On site we’re also busy with charcuterie, bread-making and our own micro-dairy. There’s always something interesting to explore or a discovery to be made. And we like to share what we find.
