Mark Birchall was crowned 'Best Chef in the UK' after winning the Chefs' Chef of the Year award at the prestigious AA Hospitality Awards
Mark Birchall was crowned 'Best Chef in the UK' after winning the Chefs' Chef of the Year award at the prestigious AA Hospitality Awards, which celebrate the very best in the industry.
Selected by AA Rosette-awarded chefs, this is a unique award recognising the best chef in the UK, as chosen by their peers, and we're delighted to see this accolade given to Mark.
On winning such huge acknowledgement from fellow chefs, Mark commented: "Thank you so much, this really does mean a lot to me. The team and I work tirelessly to bring together the very best surroundings with an unrivalled dining experience for all our guests at Moor Hall. I'm very lucky to have such great people around me".

In 2017, within six months of opening, the Restaurant at Moor Hall was awarded its first Michelin Star. Since then, both Moor Hall Restaurant with Rooms and The Barn at Moor Hall have gone on to win a stream of awards and accolades, as has Chef Patron Mark Birchall. Lancashire is a land of abundance. Our gardens teem with fruit and vegetables and flowers and herbs. In season here you might eat peas straight out of the pod, so fresh all they need is a touch of salt and nasturtium oil. What we don’t grow we seek out from the amazing produce tended and nurtured by local farmers and artisans.
