One of the things that makes a wedding at Moor Hall so special is that, for the day, the entire estate is yours.
There are no other events taking place, no members of the public passing through and no need to share the space with anyone else. From the moment you arrive, Moor Hall becomes your home for the day - a place to celebrate with the people who matter most.
Whether it's drinks by the lake, photographs in the gardens, time spent with loved ones in the lounge, or dancing into the evening, you have the freedom to enjoy every corner of the estate at your own pace.
The restaurants, rooms, gardens, bar and beautiful grounds are all exclusively yours, creating a sense of privacy and intimacy that is difficult to find elsewhere.
Set within five acres of gardens and centred around a picturesque lake, Moor Hall offers more than just a wedding venue. It offers a place where memories are made, where guests can truly relax, and where every moment feels personal.
Below, you'll discover the spaces that make up the estate and how each one can play a part in your celebration.

The setting of your wedding matters. It's where guests gather with a glass of champagne after the ceremony, where conversations unfold beneath the trees, and where some of the most treasured photographs of the day are captured.
At Moor Hall, five acres of beautiful gardens surround a picturesque lake, creating a backdrop that feels both intimate and expansive. Woodland paths, wildflower meadows and carefully tended kitchen gardens invite guests to wander, explore and enjoy the estate at their own pace.
The gardens are at the heart of Moor Hall. Step-over apple trees line the beds where cornflowers, violas, marigolds and borage are grown, while the kitchen gardens provide ingredients for both restaurants. Much of what you see growing around you will find its way onto your plate later that evening, creating a connection between the landscape and the dining experience that is uniquely Moor Hall.
There is a sense of calm here that is difficult to put into words. The sound of birdsong across the water, the changing light on the lake and the feeling of being completely immersed in nature create an atmosphere unlike any other wedding venue.
As the seasons change, so too does the estate. Spring blossom, summer flowers, autumn colour and winter's quiet beauty ensure that no two weddings at Moor Hall ever look or feel quite the same.
Whether you're enjoying drinks by the lake, taking a moment together in the gardens, or gathering loved ones for photographs against the backdrop of the Hall, the grounds become an unforgettable part of your celebration.
At the heart of the estate is Moor Hall Restaurant, an intimate three Michelin Star dining room where your wedding meal becomes one of the most memorable parts of the day.
With views across the lawns and lake on one side, and the open kitchen on the other, the restaurant brings together everything Moor Hall is known for: beautiful surroundings, exceptional service and food of the very highest standard.
This is where Mark Birchall and his team cook every day, creating modern British menus that celebrate produce from Moor Hall’s own gardens alongside ingredients from trusted local farmers, growers and suppliers.
The space itself feels calm, warm and considered, with natural materials, soft detail and a close connection to the landscape outside. It is elegant without feeling formal, creating the perfect atmosphere for a wedding breakfast that feels truly personal.
Moor Hall also has a dedicated Cheese Room, where British and Irish farmhouse cheeses are carefully selected and change with the seasons. The wine list, named Best in England at the AA Awards in 2024, can be tailored by the sommelier team to complement your menu.
For couples who want their wedding day to be defined by extraordinary food, thoughtful hospitality and a setting unlike anywhere else in Lancashire or the North West, Moor Hall offers something truly special.

Just a short walk from the main house, The Barn brings another beautiful dimension to a wedding at Moor Hall.
Holding one Michelin Star in its own right, The Barn is our sister restaurant - relaxed, elegant and full of character. Set beside the Hall, with views across the lake and a terrace opening out onto the grounds, it offers a warm and inviting space for you and your guests to enjoy.
It has a slightly more informal feel than Moor Hall Restaurant, but the same care, detail and exceptional approach to food. Inside, you’ll find a beautifully converted barn with plenty of space, its own kitchen, bakery, small dairy, and meat-ageing and curing room.
The Barn seats 50 guests and serves seasonal dishes inspired by the same five-acre landscape as Moor Hall. Produce from the gardens, ingredients from trusted local suppliers, and the skill of the kitchen team all come together to create food that feels generous, thoughtful and full of flavour.
For your wedding day, The Barn can be used in whatever way suits your celebration best. It might be the setting for your drinks reception, a relaxed gathering the following morning, or simply another beautiful space for guests to enjoy throughout the day.
What makes it truly special is that it gives you something few wedding venues can offer: a second Michelin-starred restaurant, right here on the same private estate.
Staying at Moor Hall allows your wedding celebration to feel even more special. With fourteen bedrooms across the estate, those closest to you can remain part of the experience from beginning to end.
Each room has its own character and design. Five are set within the historic main house, two are in the original Gatehouse, and seven Garden Rooms sit within the grounds, surrounded by woodland and landscaped gardens. Each Garden Room has its own private terrace and hot tub, offering a peaceful place to unwind after the celebrations.
Every bedroom is named after a plant or ingredient found on the estate, from Melilot and Rosehip to Damson, Bramble and Sweet Cicely. Some look out across the lake, while others are tucked among the trees, giving guests a real sense of place.
Moor Hall has been awarded two Michelin Keys in the Michelin Hotel Guide, recognising the quality of the stay as well as the dining.
For wedding guests, having bedrooms on site means there is no need to rush away at the end of the evening. The people closest to you can stay, wake up on the estate, and enjoy the morning after together.

Food is at the heart of Moor Hall. With three Michelin Stars, a Michelin Green Star for sustainability and five AA Rosettes, it offers a wedding dining experience unlike anywhere else in Lancashire or the North West.
Led by Chef Patron Mark Birchall and his team, every menu is shaped by the season, the estate and the produce available at that moment. It is thoughtful, beautifully crafted food with a real sense of place.
On site, the team cure their own charcuterie, bake their own bread and run a micro-dairy producing cheese, butter and yoghurt from raw milk supplied by a local herd of Holstein Friesians. Meat is reared in the North West, fish is sourced from UK day boats, and what cannot be grown in the five acres of gardens is sourced locally with full traceability.
For couples who love food, this is where a wedding breakfast becomes something truly memorable. Not just a menu, but a reflection of Moor Hall itself - the gardens, the producers, the craft and the care behind every detail.
